Dear Sir:
In our response to the subject violation dated July 22, 1991 we stated the re-verification effort of the Peach Bottom Q-list would require approximately eight weeks to perform component reviews, verify the results and assess any plant operability concerns for identified omissions.
Ihis effort was initiated August 8, 1991, and was scheduled to be completed by October 1, 1991, with Q-list and S-list updates scheduled for completion by Ostober 31, 1991. Due to the complexity of fully evaluating and verifying these components, especially in the electrical area, the effort will not be
-completed until the end of 1991. The scope of the electrical. reviews includes 885 drawing sheets.
The review process for each sheet requires an initial marx-up of components to determine current classification followed by in independent review. An engineer then reviews each marked-up sheet to verify the classification of each component and initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) t.s required for necessary changes.
The NCR initiation includes an operability and reportability determination.
This is followed by an indapendent review anu a branch head review of each sheet.
Currently, the mechanical reviews-and assessments have been completed and the eier.trical reviews and assessments are approximately 23% complete.
There have been no operability concerns identified thus far as a result of the reviews. The reviews have identified Q-list omissions, but there have not been any system hardware problems.

i lhe Q-list has been transferred to the Master Lquipment List (MLL) in the Plant Information Management System (PIMS). Additionally, Engineering has recalled hard copy Q-lists from use 20 ensure that an.y component not classified in MEL is reviewed for proper classificati0r. prior to initiating any activities which would require classification information.
The status of these actions was discussed with the Peach Bottom NRC Stnior Resident Inspector on October 2, 1991.
l The review, re-verification and operability assessments of the component Q-list and S-list die ongoing and will be completed by December 31, 1991.
These actions should eliminate classification problems associated with the Q-list and S-list, and will provide an accurate basis for component classificotion.
