Dear Sir:
The table below indicates the data for fast cold starts for the diesel generators from 12/1/82 to 12/1/83.
Scoring has been seen in some cylinder walls and upper valve train components during refueling outage maintenance.
These indications have not caused any forced outages to date.
The long-term impact on reliability and availability has not been quantified but is known to be negative.
