Dear Judge Latrenson:
Bernard Bordnick who has appeared in the above captioned pr W ing on behalf of the staff of the Nuclear Regulatory Ccmnission, has reported to Ben Wiles of my Counsel's office your statements at the January 4,1984 con-ference of counsel which sought further information concerning New York State's intended participation in the mergency planning proceeding. As you my be aware, I have publicly stated the State's position that the current LIICO mergency preparedness plan is inadequate and that the State intends to participate in all aspects of the Shoreham licensing proceeding, including the mergency planning hearings.
My Special Counsel, Fabian G. Palcinino, will appear on Tuesday, January 17, 1984, at the resumed off-site emergency planning hearings at Riverhead, New York to represent me there and in all future proceedings.
