TXX-91278 dated July 31. 1991 Interim Report Gentlemen:
On July 1,1991, TU Electric orally notified the NRC of a potentially reportable deficiency in which porosity was found in the weld in a 10",
schedule 40, SA-312 stainless steel pipe.
Specifically, three pores were noted in the manufacturer's seam weld during interpretation of radiographic results of a site-fabricated circumferential weld.
The pipe was from heat number 911737 and was manufactured by Youngstown Steel in March 1991, in letter logged T?tX-91278, dated July 31. 1991, TV Electric reported that the next report of this issue will be submitted no later than September 30, 1991.
We are continuing the investigation of reportability and corrective actions.
The next report will be submitted no later than November 15. 1991.
