Dear Commission:
The letter dated July 9,1991, herein from the Connecticut l'ower & l.ight Company and Public Service Company of New linmpshire (collectively
" Applicants") is almost entirely repetitive (except for some ad homin.em remarks about the City of Ilolyoke Gas & Electric Department ("IIG&E")).
Nonetheless, out of an abundance of caution, two clarifications are in order to avoid confusion that Applicants' letter may engender.
First, the F ral Energy llegulatory Commission ("FEllC") itself has not decided much less " rejected... as groundless" (as Applicants' letter states at page 4) 11G&E's arguments as to the New llampshire Corridor; these arguments are pending before the FEllC cn exceptions to an initial decision rendered Inte last year by its Administrative 1.aw Judge ("Al.l")
(to which Applicants elsewhere refer).
Second, IIG&E has not requested " redundant proceedings" before this Commission. In fact, ilG&E believes it perfectly appropriate for this to300,nnectitu Avenu,,sw Commission to take advantage of evidence already accumulated by the ra.hinpon, r>c 20036 5339 FEitC: nor does llG&'] object to this Commission's cornidering the FEltC's forthcoming evaluation of the evidence before it in reaching this Commission's independent conclusions, llG&E merely asserts that this Telephone:202/t J oooo Cak ARFOX Commission has an independent statutory responsibility under the Atomic l
Teles.UU a92672 Energy Act which IIG&E is confident will be exercised as efficiently and rrr 4+0266 fairly as possible, he.imh 202/as7 c.39s Finally, NU's observation (at page 11) as tr IIG&E's interest or lack of interest "in taking advantage of NU's compret.ensive offering" improperly 7475 7teconsin.tvenue fledweda, Maryland 20814 3413 Booolowere Crescent Drive Vienna,Virpma 22182 2733 9107240043 910722 9 h-PDR ADOCK 05000443 iW U
