Clark, dated February 25, 1982 Gentlemen:
Reference (a) supplemented our June 30, 1981 response to NRC Generic Letter 81-14, Seismic Qualification of Auxiliary Feedwater Systems and was provided in response to your January 6, 1982 request for additional information. Recent discussions with our NRC Project Manager indicate that a single issue remains outstanding in your review of the seismic capability of the Calvert Cliffs auxiliary feedwater system; i.e., documentation of seismic qualification for certain manual valves [see Item 9 of Reference (a)].
The purpose of this letter is to inform you that we have initiated analytical efforts to qualify the subject valves to seismic Category I requirements. We expect that these efforts will be completed by March 15, 1984.
It is our understanding that with this commitment, your review of the seismic qualification of the auxiliary feedwater system under Generic Letter 81-14 is now complete.
