Dear Sir:

NRC Generic Letter (GL) 89-10 " Safety Related Motor-Operated Valve Testing and Surveillance - 10CFR 50.54 (f)," item m, requires licensees to notify the NRC in writing within 30 days after the actions described in the first paragraph of item i of the GL have been completed. The purpose of this letter is to provide the NRC with notification that these actions were completed on January 20,1995 for Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station (PBAPS), Unit 2 valves and those valves common to Units 2 and 3 in accordance with PECO Energy Company's (PECO Ener0y) commitments as documented in the referenced letters. A GL 89-10 test program completion report is being prepared and will be available for review.

Page 2 in response to GL 89-10, PECO Energy developed and implemented a program to verify the design basis capability of motor operated valves (MOVs) within the scope of the program. The GL 89-10 program MOVs at PBAPS have been tested and setup with the best available data in accordance with this conservative program methodology.

PECO Energy has made a significant commitment of resources toward implementing the GL 89-10 program at PBAPS. Completion of the program involved more than a five year effort. Program changes deemed necessary in response to emerging issues and newly available data beyond test program completion will be handled under the provisions of 10CFR50.59.
