Dear Sir:
My name is Michael D. Glascock. I am a Group Leader of the Archaeometry
& Geochemistry Group at the Missouri University Research Reactor (MURR).
I was also a witness for the complainants Drs. J. Steven Morris and Kurt R. Zinn in the Department of Labor Cases 93-ERA-036 and 93-ERA-034, respectively.
As a result of the above-mentioned cases and penalties levied on the University of Missouri, I was interviewed by a ro-called Independent Safety Assessment Team (ISAT) appointed by our Director's Office as part of MURR's corrective action to alleviate concerns of the NRC about possible safety issues at MURR. Although I was promised confidentiality by the ISAT and protection from retaliation, I have subsequently been criticized, in writing and orally, by Dr. James J. Rhyne, Reactor Director, for information that I provided in confidence tc the individual who interviewed me. My written response to Dr. Rhyne's recent criticism is attached along with a number of supportive documents.
My intent in providing this information is to make you aware of this situation.
