License Amendment Application to Revise the Facility Operating License to Reflect the Proposed Merger of i
Operating Companies - Supplemental Information j
i Gentlemen:
The purpose of this letter is to provide supplemental information for a pending license amendment application regarding the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station (DBNPS) Unit Number 1 Operating License NPF-3.
The Toledo Edison Company submitted an application dated June 6, 1994 (TE Serial Number 2219), to the NRC for an amendment to the DBNPS Operating License Number NPF-3.
The proposed changes reflected the pending.
i merger of the Toledo Edison Company into the Cleveland Electric Illumi-t nating Company.
Toledo Edison submitted a supplemental letter on July 20, 1994 (TE Serial Number 2239), to further clarify the original application and to j
discuss the effeet of the proposed merger on the Beaver Valley Power Station Unit 2 Operating License.
The original application indicated that the proposed merger necessi-tating the operating license transfer was planned to be completed by the end of 1994, so that the merged company could become a viable corporate entity by January 1, 1995. As such, Toledo Edison requested i
conditional NRC approval of the license transfer application by November 30, 1994, i

Page 2 As noted in the original application, the proposed merger requires approval of other regulatory agencies in addition to the NRC. These other necessary approvals have been delayed due to third party inter-vention.
In addition, shareholder approval of the merger is as yet to be obtained. Therefore, the timing of the needed NRC approval of the application vill be substantially impacted.
Toledo Edison accordingly requests that any further activity regarding the application be deferred until May 1, 1995. Toledo Edison vill keep the NRC Project Manager for the DBNPS informed of further developments.
