Davis Besse Nuclear Power plant is twenty miles cast of Toledo, Ohio.
Davis Besse is one of 70 nuclear plants which has used Thermo-Lag under the pretext that is was a safe fire barrier and retardant.
As you know Thermal Sciences, Inc. (the maker of Thermo-Lag) and its president, Rubin Feld man, were indicted September 29 by a federal grand jury on seven criminal charges related to conspiracy to defraud the U.S.
government in relation to the effectiveness of Thermo-Lag.
The Toledo Coalition for Safe Energy demands the immediate shutdown of all reactors using Thermo-Lag until the material is removed and replaced.
It is an outrage that these reactors have been allowed to continue to operate knowing that this is a fire hazard.
Toledo Edison states that they are continuing hourly fire watches.
Fire watches do not replace fire barrier material.
Eire _ watches are_not _ preventative. Toledo Edison states that they are under no deadline to have this problem solved.
We demand that this letter be treated as a show cause petition under 10 CFR 2.206.
We would appreciate a timely reply.
