n uii.n..,n i au n u oo The 1993-94 annual report continues the pattern established over the past n,n aun, oinom few years and includes information about the entire Radiation Center rather e m m" than concentrating primarily on the reactor. Because the report addresses a number of different interests, it is rather lengthy, but we have incorporated a short executive summary which highlights the Center's activities and accomplishments over the past year.

As a brief introduction to the current annual report, I am pleased to note that the Radiation Center experienced another busy and successful year. Reactor use continued to increase with OSU research up 18% and off-campus research up almost 150%. Increased efficiency meant that the time when two and three customers were using the reactor at the same time increased by 140% and 80% respectively.

Other indications of a successful year include a 245% jump in the time the Gammacell irradiator was in use; an increase in off-site shipments of radioactive material by 75%, and a 39% rise in publications arising from use of the Radiation Center f acilities.

10 CFR 20 regulations, preparing the analysis for refueling the reactor with low-enriched uranium fuel, and contributing towards the successful shakedown testing of the APEX facility.
