The Glouce,ter County Chapter of the Safe Energy Alternatives (S.E.A.)

Alliance opposes P.S.E. 5 G. 's application for a licenso to operate Hope Creek I as a nuclear generating plant.

We oppose the granting of this license for the following reasons:

(1) The recent failure of an autanatic shut-down system at Salem I highlights P.S.E. G G.'s long record of dangerous mismanagement of the Salem reactors. Our organization feels that in the light of this fUcord oT incompetence, the utility sFuld not t>e a11 owed to operate still another nuclear plant.

(2) There is growing evidence that operational Boiling Water Reactors..

are experiencing serious problems with their recirculating. pipes, _..

We feel that this flaw when coupled with P.S.E. G G.'s poor management record poses a very clear threat to the people of this area.
