Pursuant to 10CFR50.59(b) the following items are submitted for the Kansas State University TRIGA Mk.11 Nuclear Reactor Facility for the period 1 Oct 1993 through 30 aep 1994.

A. Changes in the Facility

1. At their meeting on 23 Feb 1994, the Reactor Safeguards Committee approved the instrumentation changes listed below. Verification and functional performance procedures were presented by Reactor Facility Staff and approved by the Committee with the fmding that the proposed actions involved no unreviewed safety questions and posed no threats to the health and safety of workers and the public, and to the integrity of the reactor,
a. Replace existing percent power channel with General Atomic NPP-1000 Analog Pulse / Safety Channel.
b. Replace existing linear power channel with General Atomic NMP-1000 Analog Linear Power Channel.
c. Replace existing log-count-rate and log-current channels with General l Atomic NLW-1000 Wide Range Log Channel. i
d. Replace existing Tracor strip chart recorder with Soltec Model 3310 Multi-Pen Strip Chart Recorder. 4 B. Changes in Procedures j
1. A new Radiation Protection Program, approved by the Reactor Safeguards Committee on 29 Sep 1993 was implemented effective 1 Jan 1994.

2. Associated with the aforementioned instrumentation changes were minor changes in the following procedures. These were approved by the Reactor Safeguards Committee on 16 June 1994, with the finding that the changes consisted of nomenclature changes and increases in surveillance requirements, and involved no unreviewed safety questions.
a. Proc: dure 7: Semi-annual $1.00 comparison pulse
b. Procedure 12: Functional performance check of transient rod
c. Procedure 15: TRIGA Mkil reactor startup
3. On 16 June 1994, the Reactor Safeguards Committee approved changes in Procedure 17:

Periodic nuclear intrusion alarm testing. The changes involved increasing the frequency oftesting.

C. Changes in Tests and Experiments

1. Associated with the aforementioned instrumentation changes were minor changes in Experiment 23: Pulsed operations. The revised experiment was approved by the Reactor Safeguards Committee on 16 June 1994, with the finding that the changes consisted of nomenclature changes and increases in surveillance requirements, and involved no unreviewed safety questions.
