OL Amendment No. 35 dated 3-30-88, Callaway Plant Uprating Union Electric Company herewith transmits several miscellaneous c"nnges to the Callaway Technical Specification Bases which are taken from the above references.
Reference 1 transmitted several changes related to the removal of some of the thimble plugging devices during Refuel 4.
That letter took credit for an all VANTAGE 5 core and the absence of a. transition core DNBR penalty in accommodating the attendant increase in core bypass flow.
Subsequent to the submittal of Reference 1, Reference 2 was issued and revised the Technical Specifications to allow the use of a COLR.
The attachment contains changes to Bases pages B 2-1, B 2-2,.B 3/4 2-4, and B 3/4 2-5 which are associated with References 1 and 2.
Pages.B 2-1 and B 2-2 are revised to delete statements regarding OFA fuel'and its DNB correlation (WRB-1), OFA design and safety analysis-DNBR limits, and the OFA F-delta H limit.
F-delta H equations on page B 2-2 are replaced.
by a reference to the COLR.
Given the issuance of Reference 2, the changes to page B 3/4 2-1 submitted in Reference 1 are no longer needed; however, the changes to pages B 3/4 2-4 and B 3/4 2-5 with its Insert A from Reference 1 are still needed and are enclosed herein.

. The change to Bases page B 3/4 3-4 is taken from Reference 3.
Callaway's conformance to Regulatory Guide 1.97, Revision 2 is clarified in FSAR Appendix 7A.
The change to Bases page B 3/4 6-2 is taken from Reference 4.
The peak containment pressure following a steam line break is 48.1 psig, as noted in Reference 4 and in FSAR Tables 3.11(B)-2 and 6.2.1-2.
The change to Bases page B 3/4 7-1 is taken from Reference 5.
FSAR Tables 5.1-1 and 10.3-2 were revised to reflect the uprated secondary side steam flow of 15.92 E06 lbs/hr at the licensing basis 10%
steam generator tube plugging.
Further, the main steam safety valve capacities listed on FSAR Table 10.3 add up to a four loop total of 18.23 E06 lbs/hr, rather than 18.28 E06 lbs/hr.
This typographical error has existed since the original issuance of the Technical Specification Bases; no changes to the safety valvo discharge capacities have been made since original plant licensing.
