Based on a telephone conversation between Mr. R. F. Warnick (NRC) and D. J.
S tephenson (CG&E) on August 2, 1983, CG&E was granted an extension for submittal of this interim report until Augtet 5, 1983.
CG&E has reviewed the subject condition and has determined that it represents a reportable deficiency under 10CFR50.55 (e).
CG&E is currently implementing the corrective actions given in our previous report, QA-2124, dated November 19, 1982.
Design Documents Changes (DDC's) Numbers SLM-933 and SLM-963 have been issued to revise and clarify Sargent & Lundy Design Specifications H-2173, H-2256, and H-2298.
Procedures, including MIP-13, are being revised as applicable by all Zimmer contractors to ensure that the revised Design Specifications are incorporated in the procedures.
New installations will be curtailed until an adequate procedural program is established to ensure proper installation.
OPP 3.8 has been issued to describe and control the seismic Interaction Clearance Program.
CG&E provided copies of the implementing procedures to the NRC for review and comment prior to beginning the walkdown.
The entire Seismic Interaction Clearance Program is expected to be completed by June 30, 1984.
