4.

There were no facilitf changes during the year.

There was one (1) inadvertent scram. The recorder micro-5.

switch became misaligned causing it to drop off the drive wheel, causing a recorder scram.

s 6.

Major maintenance consisted of the following:

a.

Inspection and calibration of all control rods.

b.

The electric motor was replaced on one of the venti-lation system blowers.

7.

There were no non-routine experiments performed.

Personnel radiati'on exposures duri=g 1976 are summarized i

as follows:

l Radiation exposures to reactor and health physics a.

Radiation exposures to reactor visitors averaged 2.47 milliroentgens per individual per day.

of reactor operation.

11.

Reactor Surveys:

Significant radiation levels in the-reactor facility were a.

documented in the following areas:

~

(1)

The shielded door to the dry exposure room 'is I

monitored whenever it is opened. In 1976, theie were 240 such openings - with an average radiation level of 20.4 milliroentgens per hour per opening, and a maximum level for the year of 200 milliroentgens per hour.

(2)

The maximum ' recorded level in a restricted area

{where visitors are normally not allowed without staff i,

_f.g

.. supervision) was 1.3 roentgens per hour. This occurred
