Dear Mr. Brenner:

Re Orrier regarding Ouality Assurance Documents siny 13, 1983, A'?pp (Romano)

~0 is sending cop and Applicant'y of IE Report No. 50-353/76-06, the related Notice of Violation (Vincent Boyer) response thereto with attachment.

s d

I want to comment on the point of "other documents made available to Mr.

p Ronano" (Applicant's Answer [to contention} Anril 27, 1983 at 43) (sic) hearing on the scope of re-examination of welds inspected hv the narticular inspector h

as per order dated May 13, 1983, which I received t'av 18, 1983.

G There are abundant other IE reports and notices of Violation re weldine, in-y fractions (see copies submitted).

s N

Also as it relates to IE50-353/76-06, in the Januarv 11, 1983 letter under Discovery 2 by Mark Wetterhahn, Esq., in response to my letter of Sept. 3, 19M to Troy Conner, Jr.,Esq., re Docket 352-3 (contention VI-1)... in earticular "En-

)

closure 2", interosstories on Welding Infractions (a) re items (1),(2),(3), did not nrovide answers to questions asked.

s 3

(b) re items (4),(5),(6) under Wetterbahn Discovery 2,(10) resnonse was D

" Company is exploring conditions for answers" ubich I have not received.

(c) re item (7) Netterhahn under Discoverv 2,(11) states "docunents are be-inc provided", however, specific, recognizable answers ware not evident, (d) re item (8) uetterhahn let ter under Discovery 2,(12) re 76-06-01-0CTP-k' s S copv nade available but not nrrtinent to solution.

As per Applicant's answer [tn contention], Anril ?7, 1993 it is stated, "As b

set forth in documents nade available to "r. Romano, All welds (Anplicant's emnha-L sis) inspected by the narticular insnector, not onlv accassible welds (ennhasis hv b

Ronano) teare 2xamined.

Contrity to "r. Uetterbahn's statement, however nowhere has the Applicant demonstrated that all welds, not oniv acces:ible welds were ex-amined.

Specific requests for nunber of welds and narcentage of thos? inspected were not available in resnonses.
