Gentlemen:
On June 28, 1983, Georgia Power Company reported the above referenced potential deficiency to the U. S. NRC. At this time, Georgia Power Company has been able to complete an inspection of uninstalled ductwork. A summary of the inspection is presented:
16,711 welds in 2,623 pieces of ductwork were inspected.
1,492 pieces of ductwork were rejected due primarily to undersized welds.
The overall rejection rate on the undersized welding is approximately 77, Repairs have been completed in 373 pieces of ductwork.
An ins e; er ugram for the installed ductwork is being devised. At this time, t y yce i er Company cannot forecast a completion date for this inspection pregram.
Georgia Power Company will submit an additional interim report on this subject that will forecast a completion date for this concern on September 30, 1983.
