Dear Mr. O'Reilly As discussed with Mr.
R. C.
Butcher on July 15, 1983, South Carolina Electric and Gas Company (SCE&G) provided in a letter dated June 17,_1983, a report under the provision of 10 CFR 21 concerning two (2) potential problems within:the 7300 Process Protection System.
This letter stated that' relay contacts on the
~
NTC cards in question would be bypassed by permanently installed jumpers by July 15, 1983; however, due to delays in finalizing the proper jumper placement, installation will_not be completed-by the estimated date.
~
Instructions for the permanent jumper installationLhave been finalized-and work is ongoing at this time.

should be completed by August 15, 1983.
i-The June 17, 1983, letter also stated that an investigation would ina performed to determine the number of Loop Power. Supply (NLP) l cards requiring heat sink replacement.
Also,'it was stated that.
an inspection of these identified cards will be conducted during i
_each periodic system test as required by Technical Specifications
~
until the heat sinks are replaced.
To date, the aforementioned L
investigation has been performed with no loose heat sinks discovered on installed cards.
