Dear Mr. Denton:

By letter dated July 20, 1983 we forwarded to you 13 copies of the first annual revision of the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report for Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Units 2 and 3.

At that time, we advised you that revised Residual Heat Removal System Fig tres 4.8.2 and 7.4.6 would be forwarded to you by August 5, 1983.

Accordingly, there are transmitted herewith 13 copies of revised Residual Heat Removal System Figures 4.8.2 and 7.4.6.

There are also transmitted herewith an original and 12 copies of the certification required by Section 50.71(e)(2) .

CERTIFICATION V. S. Boyer, being first duly sworn, deposes and states as follows:

1. He is Senior Vice President - Nuclear Power of Philadelphia Electric Company, Licensee under Facility Operating Licenses DPR-44 and .

DPR-56 for Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Units 2 & 3, and is authorized -

to make this Certification on behalf of the Licensee.

2. The first revisions to the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report, with the exception of Figures 4.8.2 and 7.4.6, which updates the original Updated Final Safety. Analysis Report submitted for Peach Bottom Units 2 and 3 on July 20, 1982, was filed with the Commission on July 20, 1983.

As stated in the July 20, 1983 transmittal, revised Figures 4.8.2 'and 7.4.6 would be filed by August 5, 1983. The revision to these figures reflect modifications to the Residual Heat Removal System performed pursuant to Commission requirements since the submittal of the original Updated Final Safety Analysis Report. Changes made under the provisions of 10 CFR 550.59 for the period covered by the revisions to the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report have been'previously submitted to the Commission.

3. The revisions to Figures 4.8.2 and 7.4.6 brings the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report up to date as of at least January 22, 1983.
