Subject:

Fina1 Report of Potential 10CFR50.55(e) Item on Apparent Acts of Vandalism to Relay Rocm Cabinet (#96)

Dear Mr. Keppler:

This is Detroit Edison's final report involving apparent acts of vandalism to a relay rocm cabinet. This item was originally reported to Mr. H.M.

Wescott of NRC Region III by Detroit Edison's Mr. W.E. Miller, Jr., Super-visor - Construction Quality Assurance on June 10, 1983.

It was discovered that four (4) coaxial cables (231257-1K, 231-258-1K, 231267-1K and 231268-1K) in relay rocxn cabinet H11-P914 were cut or pulled out of their terminated location. This had resulted in damaged cables.

In addition, it appeared that scme of the pin assemb11es on the ends of the cables were still in the receptacles, which may have caused damage to the receptacles.

Detroit Edison's evaluation of the damage to the cables and receptacles detenines this itan non-reportab1e per 10CFR50.55(e) requirements.

If you have questions concerning this matter, please contact Mr. G.M.

Trahey, Assistant Director - Project Qua11ty Assurance.

Very truly yours, J
