50-328 The application to amend the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant unit 2 operating license, DPR-79, for cycle 2 operations was submitted to the NRC by the July 1,1983 letter from L. M. Mills to you. As a result of the recent trip of unit 2 on July 18, 1983, the decision was made to start the refueling outage for unit 2 as of July 19, 1983 Currently, a 74-day outage is planned with a subsequent scheduled startup date of October 1, 1983 Our previous scheduled shutdown date was targeted for August 5, 1983 We therefore request the NRC to support this schedule by the timely review of the various submittals made by TVA for support of the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant unit 2 operations. Failure to properly support this schedule could result in the delay of the startup from refueling.
