Technical Specification 3.8.2.1 and Use of DC Crosstie The puipose of this letter is to inform yois of the methods Braidwood Station intends to utilize to ensure compliance with the limitations associated with the use of the DC crosstie breakers to support the upcoming refueling outage for Unit 2.
Prior to utilizing the crosstie provisions, the loads on the supported bus will be limited to less than or equal to 63 amps. The breakers associated with this evolution will be taken out of-service. This will establish positive control over the crosstie loading. The loading limitation will be verified at least one per 12 hours1.388889e-4 days <br />0.00333 hours <br />1.984127e-5 weeks <br />4.566e-6 months <br /> while the crosstie breaker is closed. The time period that the DC buses on opposite units remain crosstied will be limited to no more than seven days. This timeciock will be tracked by the operating shift.
The above methodology essentially duplicates the controls utilized at Byron, and will provide sufficient controls tu ensure continued compliance with the provisions of Technical Specification 3.8.2.1.
