Subject:
NRC EQ Submittal and Site Verification Visit As agreed between the NRC and Edison, our response to NUREG-0588 has been revised and is being resubmitted.
This revised submittal consists of three (3) volumes.
Volume 1 contains the Program Description and Action Plans to resolve EQ outstanding items with a completion schedule. Volume 2 contains EQ summary sheets of safety-related electrical equipment located in a harsh environment.
Volume 3 contains the Justification for Interim Operation for equipment not fully qualified by fuel load and the Component Reclassification to reclassify equipment in the previous submittal to safety category 2C, as defined by NUREG-0588 Appendix E and provided by the EF2 SER Supplement No. 2 Appendix F.
As previously requested, Edison is expecting a site verification visit by the NRC EQ Branch during the last part of July, or in August. As also discussed, Edison will address the new rule 10CFR50.49 and provide NRC with a response by mid-October.
