Mr. H. R. Denton July 15, 1983 It is requested that a Safety Evaluation Report (SER) be written for the Point Beach dockets regarding the adequacy of the Foxboro N-E10 Series Pressure Transmitters in meeting NRC requirements for environmental and seismic qualification.
It is expected that this SER would be referenced by other licensees.
using the Foxboro N-E10 Series Transmitters.
The applicability of the test parameters documented in the test report against the location-specific normal and accident service conditions for each transmitter application would still~have to be verified and documented by each licensee using the Foxboro N-E10 Series Transmitters.
We believe that the requested generic evaluation of the qualification test report for the'Foxboro transmitters will lead to the most efficient.use of NRC staff and licensee resources in meeting the requirements of 10 CFR 50.49.
We would'be pleased to answer any questions you may have regarding this request.
Please call Mr. R. K. Hanneman of our staff at (414)277-2009 regarding technical questions on the attached report.
Very truly yours,
,h5 l6cl g Vice President-Nuclear Power C. W. Fay Attachment Copies (wo/ attach.) to Mr. John A. Sears (Foxboro)
