in service for the entire reporting period. Ther'e were five power '

reductions with return to 100%. These are detailed in the Summary.
/'l Total electrical generation was 816,880 MWH.-
f' Summary:

5/3/83 Unit power reduction was initiated at 0916 nours. Train"B"ofthe)[
Solid State Protection System (SSPS) of Reactor Protection had bee 6 bypassed for 58 minutes for surveillance testing and it was evident that the testing would exceed the G hour allowed by the Technical Specifications. The testing had id_entified a problem with one of the Solid State Boards. The failed board was identified, replaced
/
and tested. The Reactor Protection System was returned te normal at 0924.
Power reduction had been less than 1% by this time, so the' Unit was immediatelv reloaded to 100%.

It was immediately realized that the power reducti,oh was due to leak through of Boric jr[
Acid from the BIT and the pressurization stopped. Further testing
