57300, JOB E-5590, FILE NO. 956C, M-14 This letter constitutes an interim report concerning the subject condition initially reported to the Commission on March 12, 1980- under the requirements of 10CFR50.55 (e).

As indicated in our previous report, LCZ-83-0005, dated March 24, 1983, actual field torque measurements on the dampers and analysis of the. torque data by Sargent & Lundy Engineers has determined that:

1.) Three actuators require replacement; 2.) Two actuators require spring replacement; and 3.): Three actuators require spring height adjustment.

Torque testland analysis are still required on ten (10) dampers in the Primary Containment Ventilation (VP) and Primary Containment Purge.(VQ) _systamc.. These. tests cannot be performed until the VPz and VQ system ductwork'is complete.

Completion of this work 'is contingent upon the release 'of the NRC November 12, 1982 " Order to Show Cause and Order Immediately Suspending Construction" for work in this area.

Upon this release, a projected schedule.for completion of the corrective actions will

'be submitted.
