Response to Operational Safeguards Response Evaluation (O.S.R.E.)
This letter responds to the concerns identified during the Operational Safeguards Response Evaluation (O.S.R.E.) that was conducted by your office at the Indian Point Unit 1 and 2 site from March 25 to March 30,1994.
The findings of the O.S.R.E., which were identified in your letter of August 31,1994 as Part I, Operational Safeguards Readiness review, are responded to in Attachment A of this letter.
As a result of this intensive inspection, a review of our training program is in progress and a number of areas mentioned in the report have been addressed. We are continuing to look at the remaining matters and will implement appropriate modificanons upon the completion of this review.
10 CFR Section 73.21 provides that correspondence and reports to and from the NRC which relate to the physical protection of power reactors, including the information enumerated in subsections (b)(1)(1) through (xiii) of 10 CFR Section 73.21, are to be protected from unauthorized disclosure, in accordance with these requirements, we therefore understand that the Attachment A will not be placed in the Public Document Room and will receive limited distribution.
