This Special Report is submi t ted in accordance wi th LaSalle Unit Operatinq License NPF-II, Appendix A, Technical Specifications 3.7.6 and 6.6.c.
On August 11 and 12, 1983, inspections were performed and it was discovered that nylon pull ropes, used for cable pulling, were sealed alona with adjacent cables in various CT Gypsum fire stops. These ropes were apparently in the risers / trays for future additional cable pulls. Also, a pipe was found open going throunh a fire wall.
Since fuel load, area fire detection has been operable and an hourly fire watch in this area has been in e f fect.
The nylon pull ropes for the barriers involved were removed and the penetra-tions vere satisfactorily sealed on August 16 and 23, 1983. The open pipe was also satisfactorily scaled on August 23, 1983.
