Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 1 (TMI-1)
Operating License No. DPR-50 Docket No. 50-289 Emergency Operations Facility Construction Schedule In our response to Generic Letter No. 82-33, we advised of our plan to establish a new Emergency Operating Facility outside the ten mile radius of Three Mile Island which would be consistent with the NRC guidance (Option 2) and would serve as our primary offsite emergency response facility. We expected to have a fully functional facility in the Third Ouarter 1983 and agreed to confirm the details of the construction schedule once final negotiations with the contractor were completed. Those negotiations have been completed. Although some delay occurred during negotiations to procure the site, the contractor began con-struction on July 12, 1983 and intends to have the facility ready for occupancy by October 1, 1983. Assuming the schedule remains firm, we expect the facility to be fully functional by November 1, 1983 (as indicated in our letter dated July 12, 1983 (5211-83-197) and to conduct the 1983 Annual Exercise from the facility. You will be advised of any changes to this schedule.
