Y TRIBAL COUNCIL CENTENNIAL JUNE 9 IPM POST OFFICE BOX 151 TOPPEN;$H, WASHINGTON 96948 August 30, 1982 Richard Black Counsel for NP.C Staff United States Regulatory.
Commission Washington, D. C.

Dear Mr. Black:
^
As you know we are intervenors in the Skagit/Hanford Nuclear Project proceedings.-
The Draft EIS is seriously flawed in scope and content.
It fails to recognize the existence of the Yakima Indian Nation, with its Sovereign concerns for the Health, Lands, Water.and Environment of the Yakima People.
Not one or the significant adverse impacts to our Nation and People has.been addressed.
The Yakima Reservation lies 13 miles from Hanford.
Hanford is on Yakima Nation Ceded Lands in which the Yakimas retained certain Inalienable Rights when they were Ceded over to the Federal Government in the Treaty of 1855.
