The evaluation of the 6-foot auxiliary feedvater level control for the 205
{
plants has shown unacceptable small break c=nsequences. If the results of r
this evaluation were to stand, Br'.i vould be forced to place a high auxiliary
[
feedvater level control system into already =anufactured and shipped stema
{
generators at a considerable expense to the company. Recent work ca 177
}
plant s=all breaks has indicated favorable results associated with two model
(
changes (1) the use of phase distribution =ultiplier vould account for distribution effects within the reactor vessel; and (2) the use of a ".aloudek j
discharge model for subcooled blevdown.
I In order to nake a maxi =um attempt at showing that high auxiliary feedvater levels are unnecessary you are' requested to combine the 177 model changes j
with the level dependent steam generator r.odel in a special C2ATT version.
l I
It is cry understanding this will amount to the combination of the CM l
version 8.3 code with the steam geesrator codel contained in a special ver-sion of CM version 8.2 on Tape #06730. I further understand that, with-
[' '
out unknown co=plications, this work can be accomplished within the next two f
f weeks.
