Dear Sirs:
1 On or about_ December 27, 1982, the U. S. Tennessee Valley Authority subnitted to the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission a REQUEST FOR A LICENSE AMENDMEtE seeking approval for a Volume Reduction and Solidification System for use at its Sequoyah Nuclear Plant.
It is my understanding that NRC Internal procedures require a notice to be published in the Federal Register and a public opportunity to request a hearing or otherwise ev: ment or participate in the licensing proceeding. To date I have not seen amf notice relating to this matter in the Federal Register.
Could you advise me as to the anticipated date of the Federal Register notice.
I would also like to know if the NRC will accept petitions requesting a hearing prior to publication within the Federal Register.
