Dear Mr. Parr:

The purpose of this letter is to clarify the status of acquisition of transmission line rights-of-way for 1.aSalle County Station.

As indicated in the LaSalle County FSAR,-

Section 8.2-1, two 345 KV transmission systems comprise the final off-site power distribution system for the plant. "TheVe two systems are:

(1) LaSalle-Braidwood, and (2) LaSalle -Plan'o.

~

The necessary property has been acquired for the first of these two systems.

In the case of the LaSalle-Plano.

system, Commonwealth Edison has petitioned for and received ali order in accordance with Section 50 of the Illinois Public.

E Utilities Act, authorizing the LaSalle-Plano line.

This order, which was issued by the Illinois Commerce Commission on 9

January 17, 1979, authorizes and directs Commonwealth Edison to construct, operate and maintain the LaSalle-Plano line and grants the authority to acquire perpetual easements on, over, along, across and through the parcels of land required.

Final offers have becn made in an attempt to acquire the parcels of land still required.

In the event the on-going negotia:: ions to acquire the property in question is unproductive, condemnation proceedings will be instituted.

This information has been communicated informally to Mr. A. Bournia of your staff.

In the event you have any questions, please direct them to this office.

Very truly yours,
