!* limitation was exceeded at the Point Beach Nuclear Plant. The pH of the re-

.' tention pond discharge (sampie point 501) was 9.8 s.u. on April 29, 1983.

The Company has commenced an investigation into this incident 3I/ which will include a review of the sampling and analysis techniques to de-termine the validity of the results, an inspection of any treatment equip-I ment, and a review of operators' logs to determine any unusual activities which might have caused the incident. When the investigation is completed, a letter will be sent to the Department outlining the results of the in-vestigation and corrective action, if any, which has been or will be taken.
