57300, JOB E-5590, FILE NO. 956C, M-46 This letter constitutes an interim report concerning the subject deficiency initially reported on May 10, 1982 to the Commission under the requirements of 10CFR50.55(e).
Since our previous report, QA-2210, dated January 11, 1983, no additional turning vane failures have been discovered.
The test procedure to certify the design adequacy of the turning vanes in essential HVAC systems has been developed and is being l
l reviewed for approval.
Scheduling and implementation of the above test procedure and completion of any corrective action is contingent upon the release of the NRC November 12, 1982, " Order to Show Cause and i
Order Immediately Suspending Construction".
A follow-up report will be submitted by August 31, 1983.
