Dear Administrative Judges:

This letter is submitted on behalf of Commonwealth Edison Company (Edison) pursuant to the Board's request for a quarterly status report on developments in this proceed-ing.

Edison has recently revised the projected in-service dates for Carroll County Unit 1 from 1999 to 2000 and, for Carroll County Unit 2, from 2000 to 2001. The circumstances associated with the possible withdrawal from the project of one of Edison's prospective joint owners have not changed significantly since our February 1, 1983 report.
