" Procurement of Spare / Replacement Parts" Second Interim Report

Dear Mr. Collins,
As of March 31, 1983 a total of 310 purchase orders for safety-related and/or quality-related spare and replacement parts were reviewed by an independent consultant and of these approximately 30 percent were found to be lacking sufficient documentation for use in safety-related applications. Additionally, this review has been expanded to include all purchase orders issued by LP&L for plant equipment and consumables prior to July 1, 1982. The review and identification of deficient items is presently scheduled for completion near the end of April and it is expected that the final resolution of all deficiency notices generated in this effort will require an additional two months to close out.
A final report will, therefore, be transmitted to the NRC by July 29, 1983.
