Subject:

NUCLEAR PROJECT NO.1 TOPICAL REPORT, RADWASTE SOLIDIFICATION SYSTEM, UNC NUCLEAR INDUSTRIES.

In WNP-1 FSAR Subsection 11.4.1.1 we indicate that WNP-1 will utilize a radwaste solidification system developed by UNC Nuclear Industries and that UNC would be submitting a topical report on this system.

The topical report (UNC-S-8000-NP and UNC-S-8000-P) was submitted on February 18, 1983.

We request that the NRC consider this report as supporting material for the WNP-1 FSAR.

The closed circuit television, transfer carts, cranes and drum washdown to be used in WNP-1 will differ from those described in the UNC topical reports.

However, these differences do not impact the radwaste solidification process.
