Denton, Director Office of Nuclear Reactor Re90lation U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555 Cable Separation Analysis Report Shoreham Nuclear Power Station - Unit 1 Docket No. 50-322

Dear Mr. Denton:

In letters dated February 10, 1981 and July 10, 1981 (SNRC-532 and SNRC-593 respectively), LILCO committed to conducting a review of the " Cable Separation Analysis Report" (dated February, (r 1981) for the Shoreham reactor building secondary containment

' s' against the present plant configuration. The purpose of the review was to:

- update the report to reflect modifications made to the configuration of the plant subsequent to the initial report.

- ensure that a minimum 20-foot separation exists between safety-related components in an affected zone and

, redundant safety-related components for which credit was j taken in the shutdown scenario associated with each zone.

This review has been completed and has demoristrated the adequacy of the Shoreham design and configuration. To this end, enclosed herewith are forty (40) copies of the revised " Cable Separation Analysis Report" for the Shoreham reactor building. This revised report supersedes the previous submittal of this item in its entirety.
