1:nclocad is a ocpy of the fimi exerciso report for the !by 22, 1990, exercise of the offsite radiological enezycncy regence plans site-specific to the Palisades liuclear Pcuer Plant. 1he State of Michigan aN Berrien County partially participatcd in the exercise. 7ho counties of Allcgan and Vannuren fully participated in the exerciso, as well as the Consumrs Pcuer otrpany.
The exerciso report, dated January 14, 1991, was preparcd try the Federal D cryercy Management Agency (ITMA) R(gion V staff ard a copy of the report has been providad to the State of Michigan.
1here were five Deficiencies and several Areas Requirirg Cbrrective Iction identificd durirg the May 22, 1990, exercise. A reuxiial exercise was corducted !!ovember 5,1990, which corrccted all fivo Deficiencies. 1ho results of the remrxiial exercise are included in the report.
The State of Michigan has resporded to the other exercise weaknesses identificd durirq the May 22, 1990, exercise and a copy of the responso is encloscd. Additiornl verification of corrective actions will be provided by FIFA Region V duriin the next exercise for the Palisados lluclear Pcuer Plant, ncu schcduled for Septcrber 1,1992.
Based on the results of the May 22, 1990, exercise, ard the llovember 5,1990, rencdial exercise, the of f aite radiological ercrycncy response plans ard preparodness at the Palisades liuclear Pcuer Plant are adequate to provide reasonable assurance that apprcpriate measures can in taken of faite to protect the health ard safety of the iblic in the event of a radiolcgical c:crycncy at the site. Therefore, the Title 44 CFR, Part 350 approval of the offsite radiological crcrgency response plans ard preparcdness site-specific to the Palisades Ituclear Pcuer Plant, grantcd on July 2,1982, continues to be in offect.
