JOSEPH H. FARLEY NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 1 NARRATIVE
SUMMARY
OF OPERATIONS MARCH, 1983 The Unit 1 Cycle 4 - Cycle 5 refueling outage continued into the month of 'a rch. On March 30, 1983 the unit returned to service. At 1615 on 3/31/83, following a load rejection of forty-five megawatts, the pressurizer pressure increased to approximately 2280 psig resulting in a challenge to the pressurizer PORVs. The PORVs opened and following the decrease in pressure, the PORVs re-turned to the closed position.
The following safety-related maintenance was performed in the month of March:
- 1. Performed miscellaneous maintenance on diesel generators.
- 2. Repaired containment personnel hatch doors.
- 3. Repacked #6 River Water pump.
- 4. Repaired leaks on Pressurizer PORV block valves V027A and V027B.
- 5. Replaced electrical penetration Q1T52B020 module D.
- 6. Repaired Pressurizer PORV PCV 444B limit switch actuator arm.
- 7. Reinstalled snubbers following completion of hydraulic snubber functional tests.
