JOSEPH H. FARLEY NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 1 NARRATIVE

SUMMARY

OF OPERATIONS MARCH, 1983 The Unit 1 Cycle 4 - Cycle 5 refueling outage continued into the month of 'a rch. On March 30, 1983 the unit returned to service. At 1615 on 3/31/83, following a load rejection of forty-five megawatts, the pressurizer pressure increased to approximately 2280 psig resulting in a challenge to the pressurizer PORVs. The PORVs opened and following the decrease in pressure, the PORVs re-turned to the closed position.

The following safety-related maintenance was performed in the month of March:

1. Performed miscellaneous maintenance on diesel generators.
2. Repaired containment personnel hatch doors.
3. Repacked #6 River Water pump.
4. Repaired leaks on Pressurizer PORV block valves V027A and V027B.
5. Replaced electrical penetration Q1T52B020 module D.
6. Repaired Pressurizer PORV PCV 444B limit switch actuator arm.
7. Reinstalled snubbers following completion of hydraulic snubber functional tests.
