Dear Dr. Murley:
Reference (a) provided the Safety Evaluation performed by the NRC concerning the conduct of containment integrated leak rate testing (CILRT).
The NRC staff found CECO's proposal reasonable and acceptable; however, requested that CECO commit to comply with 10 CFR 50, Appendix J, including a visual inspection of the accessible surfaces, venting plugs, accessible leak chase channels and dome area prior to each Type A CILRT.
Commonwealth Edison commits to the Inspection requ!rements specified in the Safety Evaluation. Both Byron and Braidwood stations have included these requirements into their visuallnspection of containment surfaces which are done prior to a type A leak test.
