Beaver Valley Power Station - Unit No. 2 Docket No. 50-412 USNRC IE Inspection Report No. 50-412/83-01 Gentlemen:
4 On February 18, 1983, Duquesne Light Company (DLC), Beaver Valley Power Station - Unit No. 2 (BVPS-2) received NRC Inspection 83-01, with the findings being one violation (83-01-01) and four unresolved items (83-01-02, 83-01-03, 83-01-04, and 83-01-05).
In the cover letter of the report, the NRC indicated that DLC must respond to violation 83-01-01 as well as unresolved items 83 03, -04, and -05 within thirty days of the date of the Notice.
BVPS-2 has been working on the resolution to these items. The complex-ity of the issue has been determined to require extensive review between the licensee, architect / engineer and NSSS vendor.
DLC considers this to be a sig-nificant issue, and in order to provide for an ef fective evaluation, BVPS-2 is requesting an extension to the response time for inspection 50-412/83-01 until May 4, 1983.
The Resident Inspector for BVPS-2 has been and will be informed of the progress of BVPS-2 ef forts in the Resolution of these items.
