DPR-42 50-306 DPR-60 Prairie Island Unit 1 Cycle 17 Startup Report In accordance with the requirements of Section 6.7.a.2 of the Prairie Island Technical Specifications, a Startup Report for Unit 1 Cycle 17 is attached.
This report is required to be submitted within 90 days following the resumption of commercial power operation following installation of a fuel that has a different design. This report is being submitted due to an increase in the uranium 235 enrichment level to 4.95 weight percent coupled with a change to Zirlo cladding material with the higher burnup Westinghouse Vantage + fuel design.
Previously the fuel was enriched to 4.2 weight percent uranium 235 and utilized zircaloy cladding with the Westinghouse OFA fuel design.
