We have received the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Report numbered 50-027/944)1 with attachments resulting from the inspection of the Washington State University research reactor conducted by Mr. L. R. Norderhaug, Senior Material Control Analyst, Reactor Inspection Branch on August 1-5,1994. We are pleased that the activities a: our research reactor facility over the last year were found to be in accordance with NRC License Number R-76 and that all inspection followup items from the previous inspection were closed.
I Safety in the operation of our reseamh reactor is our highest priority. We recognize the checks and benefits to safe opere.tions accrued from annual NRC inspections and we welcome the advice and guidance of the NRC throughout the year. We appreciate the ability of the NRC inspector to examine recceds and observe operations without a major disruption of the work schedule. Finally, we have come to expect a thorough inspection conducted in a courteous and cooperative manner. This year was no exception.
