Enclosed is the Inservice Inspection (ISI) Program Plan for Pr' essure Testing which has been included as Section 7 of the " Byron s

Nuclear Power Station, Unit 1 and Unit 2, Inservice Inspection and Testing Program Irst Interval".

This ISI Pressure Testing Plan provides documentation of the scope and bounduies of visual examinations for leakage.of ASME Class 1, 2 and 3 components and systems at either The Plan was n

nominal operating pressure or hydrostatic pressure.

-developed in'accordance with the ISI requirements of ASME Section XI,

Subsections IHA, IHB, IHC and IND,-the 1983 Edition through and including the Summer 1983 Addenda.

Although Relief Requests were unnecessary for'this portion of the plan, Section 7.0 is provided in

Enclosure:

2_for your review. A revised Table of Contents for the Byron Inservice Inspection and Testing Program including Section 7.0, is

provided in-Enclosure l'.

This'section of the Byron ~ISI Program Plan also contains an

-augmented-Inservice inspection program to meet the requirements of NUREG

'0737 III.D.I l.

This leakage testing program is required by Section 6.8.4 of the, Byron Technical-Specifications and is designed to reduce

leakage from portions of systems outside containment, that could contain highly 1 radioactive fluids during._a serious transient or accident, to as low as practical-levels.
