Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant Unit Nos.1 & 2; Docket Nos. 50-317 & 50-318 Emironmental Review for Renewal of Operating Licenses; Supplemental Proposed Rulemakina (59FR37724)
Baltimore Gas and Electric Company appreciates the opportunity to comment on the subject rulemaking.
The supplement would resise the definition of purpose and need for the proposed Federal action that will be used in the emironmental review of applications for renewal of nuclear power plant operating licenses. We agree with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission that its approach has merit and is a workable alternative. It will address the concems of the States and, at the came time, meet the requirements of the National Emironmental Policy Act of 1969. We do, however, endorse the comments submitted by the Nuclear Energy Institute which recommends a number of changes to the proposal.
