ZIMMER NUCLEAR POWER STATION - UNIT 1 10CFR50.55(e) - ITEM M USE OF HIGH STRESS STAMP ON ASME FITTINGS W.O. 57300, JOB E-5590, FILE NO. 956C, M-33 This letter constitutes an interim report concerning the subject condition, initially reported to the NRC as 10CFR50.55(e), Item M-33.
The QCP has completed its walkdown of fittings identified as j
having a high stress stamp applied.
Eighteen (18) fittings have been identified with indications of having high stress stamps applied.
A Construction Work Authorization Request (CWAR) is being l
prepared for submittal to the NRC requesting permission to blend grind these indicated high stress stamps under the November 12, 1982 "Show Cause Order and Immediately Suspending Construction".
l The blend ~ grinding should be complete approximately two months after NRC work authorization is received in this area.
To assure that all fittings under Purchase Order 17070-11999 have been addressed, a complete documentation review is being accomplished by Task III of the Zimmer Quality Confirmation Program.
A follow-up report will be submitted by July 15, 1983.
