10CFR50. 55 (e), ITEM E-35, ELECTRICA.L EQUIPMENT FOUNDATION WELDING W.O. 57300, JOB E-5590, FILE NO. 956 C, E-35 This letter constitutes a follow-up to our interim report, OA-2224, dated January 31, 1983, concerning the subject condition initially reported to the Commission on January 4, 1983 as a potentially reportable deficiency under the requirements of 10CFR50.55(e).
As initially reported,' concerns were identified in the mounting of electrical panels related to configuration, weld
. quality, and weld procedure qualification.
Since the weld procedure qualification concern is being addressed by L.
10CFR50.55(e), Item M-29, it is our intent to address the-concerns with electrical panel mounting configuration and weld quality in Item E-35.
Evaluation of the conditions found during a surveillance of the electrical panels by Henry J. Kaiser Co. and Cincinnati Gas &
Electric Company personnel indicates the need to reinspect all.
essential' panel installations for compliance with design document requirements.
This reinspection effort is expected to be completed by June 30, 1983 at which time a follow-up report will be submitted.
